Accountants certificates – what’s the big deal?

In the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, we are receiving more requests than normal from banks and lenders for confirmations of one sort or another, including the use of more – and more detailed – ‘Accountant Certificates’ !
So what are Accountant Certificates and why are we slightly cautious about issuing these documents, AND expecting clients to pay additional fees for this work ?
